BEAUTIFUL LOCATION People are moving to the Greenbrier Valley in droves for good reason. Historic Downtown Lewisburg is a uniquely vibrant and ever-changing respite from the ordinary. Here, the folk traditions of the surrounding Appalachians blend with the eclectic styles of the many who have made this place home. Travel and Leisure magazine voted us their favorite small town in the US. Culinary delights, fabulous art and theatre, antiques, and a variety of festivals dotting the calendar are all packaged in a beautiful historic setting. The area is filled with history, art, music, museums, hiking trails, and water activities. Fill your cup on your days and weekends off with all the variety of things to do. Our hospital is about 10 miles from the world-famous Greenbrier hotel and we provide veterinary care for their stable of horses.
SPECTRUM OF CARE But what about the practice? This stellar group is customer service and patientcare-focused. Our clients feel welcomed like family and they respond by trusting and listening to our recommendations. Our doors are welcoming to all candidates. If this is the type of atmosphere you long to work in, we should talk. Our clients run the spectrum from well-to-do to the local farmer. We do support our clients with ways to afford the care we provide if they need options. For years we have partnered with shelters and rescues. After all, we are here to help animals and people.
NEW BUILDING After several years of planning, and an unexpected disruption by a pandemic, we are beginning to build our new dream hospital. However, we already utilize the latest tech to make our practice life easier. We communicate on our company Slack, we have an app for client communication, and Weave phones that record calls and allow you to call clients from your personal phone… incognito. We host client education tools on our website and app and use text messages to increase our efficiency so you can go home on time. Our medical equipment is up to modern standards with digital X-rays, ultrasounds, etc. We have all the equipment needed to support quality care.
PEOPLE STUFF Our hiring process is careful and selective. We have worked hard to choose outstanding people as part of our team. Our Associate DVMs will be as carefully picked. The successful candidate will like medicine, patients, and people and have the communication skills to share their knowledge and empathy equally. Our team is involved in our hiring process because their opinion matters, so expect them to ask some questions. Our plan is to utilize MentorVet or ReadyVetGO for our new grad hires to help us support you in your new role.
TYPICAL CASE LOAD Our doctors perform surgery, and see appointments for sick, urgent, and wellness visits. We have monthly paid wellness plans to help our clients afford excellent preventive care. Dentistry is high on our list of importance. We contract with Petriage to manage our after-hours calls but we do go out on emergencies when absolutely necessary and we pay our vets extra for those calls.
TECH and TEAM Our staff include highly experienced Veterinary Assistants properly leveraged to support the DVMs. Our practice is paperless and uses Cornerstone with Idexx lab and radiology integrations as well as consultations with Idexx vets. We have an app with a loyalty plan and an online pharmacy for our client’s convenience and to give our doctors the freedom to prescribe medications we don’t stock. We use Weave phones so you can text clients, hide your personal phone number (you know they store it), and send forms online. The team communicates on a private Slack channel (it even has a random channel for humor that gets used a LOT).
BENEFITS Our associates receive $2500 in continuing education funds and 4 days off on top of vacation to utilize for these events. We provide paid vacation and sick leave. You will have an IRA with company contribution, 6 paid holidays, a paid VIN account, paid DEA, federal, and WVA licenses, paid AVMA membership dues, paid professional liability insurance, and discounted pet care. The work week is 40 hours with a half-day Saturday alternating rotation.
We look forward to meeting and learning about you!
